The Commission's business plan sets out how WILD will operate, maintain, and expand the regional water system over a multi-year horizon, balancing reliability for current customers against the capacity future growth will demand.
It's reviewed and approved by the board, and guides decisions on capital projects, reserve funding, and rate adjustments.

How water rates are set, and what they cover.
Rates are set to recover the full cost of treating, transmitting, and delivering water across the region, including operations, maintenance, and long-term capital renewal. Rates are reviewed annually, adopted through a bylaw approved by the Board, and follow the internationally accepted standards of utility rate calculations as regulated by the American Water Works Association and the Alberta Utility Commission.

Utility Commissions are designed to be apolitical, relying on established bylaws and policies approved by the Board to guide day-to-day operations and overall management of the Commission. In addition to the strategic business plan, the Commission relies on the following bylaws and policies to promote fair, transparent, and consistent stakeholder relations with our members, customers, and regional partners.
